ABOUT THE GATHERING
The Gathering Church was established in Midland Texas in 1954 as the Midland First Church of the Nazarene. Back in 2006 it changed its name to The Gathering. We believe that God offers to everyone forgiveness, peace, joy, purpose, love, meaning in life, and the promise of heaven when life is over by entering and experiencing a personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ.
OUR PASTOR
Since 2013, The Gathering has been led by Pastor Jorge Romero. That same year his wife Norma left her career as a school teacher and joined the staff. Together they have built teams and empowered leaders which has enabled the Gathering to reach our community more effectively.
Within the last ten years, The Gathering has opened up a successful afterschool program, a mother's day out, a monthly food pantry ministry, and expanded their reach with additional services and online presence. In 2021 the Gathering began work on a building in Odessa Texas in order to open up a satellite location.
Ps. Jorge and Norma have been married for 18 years and have three kids (Ximena - 18, Jorge Jr. - 16, and Esteban - 8). They enjoy jogging, coffee, and eating outside in their backyard.
