This sermon teaches that fights and quarrels come not from others, but from disordered desires within our own hearts—desires driven by envy, pleasure, and pride rather than submission to God. When believers chase worldly satisfaction and ask God with selfish motives, they drift into spiritual adultery, becoming friends with the world and enemies of God, yet God still offers grace to the humble. James calls believers to repent deeply, resist the devil, purify their hearts, and turn from double-minded living. True restoration and blessing come through humility, sincere repentance, and wholehearted submission to God, who then lifts us up.
