Blessed, but not the way you think (week 5)
In Matthew 5:7, Jesus teaches that those who belong to God's kingdom are called to be merciful, reflecting the compassion and grace God has shown them.
Mercy is more than a feeling; it is choosing to respond to others with compassion, forgiveness, and kindness without excusing sin or removing accountability and healthy boundaries.
Through the parable of the unforgiving servant in Matthew 18:21-35, we see the contradiction of receiving mercy while refusing to extend it to others. As followers of Christ, we must allow God to examine and soften our hearts so that we can stand for what is right while treating others with the mercy and grace we have received from Him.
