The illusion of wealth

The sermon explains James 5:1–6 as a strong warning that misplaced trust in wealth leads to spiritual danger and coming judgment. The issue is not simply having money, but a heart that hoards, lives in self-indulgence, ignores injustice, and becomes numb to the needs of others. Christians are called to adopt an eternal perspective, remembering earthly possessions are temporary and to instead store up treasure in heaven through faith and obedience. Therefore believers should practice generosity, care for people in need, and learn contentment in Christ, who alone provides lasting satisfaction.
